The Re: Build Program

REBUILD REFUGEE PROGRAM

Refugees in East Africa: Boosting Urban Innovations for Livelihoods Development (Re:Build) is a multifaceted approach to support urban refugees to build sustainable livelihoods in East Africa and to inspire evidence-based systemic change globally.

Re: Build is committed to generating and sharing evidence for innovative, sustainable livelihood solutions that can be adopted to support refugees and host residents in other cities in East Africa and beyond. It aims at achieving the goal of changing policies, practices, and investments to better support urban refugee livelihoods.

Platform for Vendors in Uganda (PLAVU), in partnership with International Rescue Committee (IRC), secured an IKEA Foundation grant to implement the Innovations and Adoption component of the (Re: Build) Program.

1.Uganda hosts over 1.5 million refugees. Let's collaborate to support their integration by providing essential goods and services. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive community.

2. Refugees in Uganda face numerous challenges, from food insecurity to limited access to healthcare. Vendors, let's step up by offering affordable and essential products. Small actions can make a big difference.

3. Empowering refugees in Uganda starts with us. Vendors can play a crucial role in providing jobs and resources. Let's create opportunities and foster economic growth for all. #EconomicEmpowerment

4. Food, shelter, and healthcare are basic needs that many refugees in Uganda struggle to meet. By working together, vendors can provide much-needed supplies and support. Let's make a positive impact.

5. As vendors in Uganda, we have the power to change lives. By offering special discounts and essential services to refugees, we can help them rebuild their lives.
